The best end-of-the-world movies

The best end-of-the-world movies
Comets, global warming and solar flares are just of the natural disasters featured in the best movies about the end of the world
Movies about the end of the world, or at least the end of the world as we know it, are among the most popular at the box office, with their history dating back decades to the early days of cinema. Many of these movies dramatise alien invasion and others, like I Am Legend and Planet of the Apes, depict an end of the world by mankind's own hand.
Movies showing natural disasters causing the end of the world are rarer but there are examples and the five below are perhaps the best so far. Please be aware, if you've not seen any of these movies, there are spoilers.

Best Used Cars 2011

Best Used Cars 2011
Bargains in used cars are increasingly harder to find. Fewer new-car sales over the past couple of years meant fewer trade-ins and vehicles coming off lease.

Plus, in the wake of the recession, buyers turned to used cars in a big way, tightening supply even more. We picked ten vehicles -- seven sedans, two SUVs and one convertible -- that received top scores in Kiplinger's rankings for performance, value and safety, get high marks for reliability, and won’t drain your wallet at the gas pump.

Dealer and private-party prices are based on actual transactions reported by Edmunds.com for previously owned vehicles considered to be in "clean" condition and driven an average of 12,000 miles a year. We also include the certified used price of each vehicle, based on actual sales. Certified vehicles pass a rigorous inspection and include a warranty that goes beyond the car's original warranty.

Best actors who in films of the genre action

Best actors who in films of the genre action

30. Steven Seagal

It began when he broke his wrist Sean Connery, showing some of the movements of the martial arts movie "Never Say Never Again." And even now he is still the same hard-driving. Since then, he deftly crushes the villains in films such as "Capture", "The Dead Zone" and "Above the Law." Want to see a real massacre, with a sense of humor? Well, then watch movies with this guy.
29. Tyrone Power

The same handsome as a model of Kevin Kline, and the star of many genres (drama, musicals, westerns, romantic comedies and movies about the war) - Power also starred in the role of the noble robber in such films as "Captain from Castile," "Black Swan" (based on the novel Sabatini), "Son of fury" and "The Mark of Zorro." He is incredibly mask or bearing a rider. Ah, well, of course, long black lashes.
28. Brutus Lancaster

Like Cary Grant, Lancaster began his career as a circus acrobat. So it's no surprise that he's so clever as a swashbuckling brigand in "Crimson Pirate" (pictured) or in the form of a medieval rebel in the film "Flame and the Arrow". How nice to look at him in a duet with Kirk Douglas in the movie "Tough guys" or with Clark Gable in the drama "Walk softly, go deep," tells the story of the submarine during the Second World War.
27. Charles Bronson

In the 60 Bronson was considered a master of all trades, performing in different genres films such as "The Magnificent Seven", "Dirty Dozen", "Great Escape" and others. But in the 70's he became associated with the implacable justice and national hero, who was fed up with rampant crime, becoming the star of the sequel to "Death Wish".
26. Toshiro Mifune

If someone decided to look for, where Clint Eastwood took his image of "hero without a name", which often appeared in various Westerns, it probably would have found a certain resemblance to the heroes of Mifune. This is a unique anti-hero of such classic films directed by Akira Kurosawa, as "Rashomon," "Seven Samurai", "Yodzhimbo" and "Sandzhuro. Immoral, aggressive and sexy warrior Mifune is not interested in the triumph of justice, they just want to survive in those conditions, which narrate these films.
25. Wesley Snipes

This guy never had a problem with remembering their combat choreography for a particular role - he has a black belt in karate, Shotokan. But it has not helped Snipes is also easy to scatter prosecutors who attacked him with claims of tax evasion (appeal at this time pending), how he deals with enemies in his films. We saw him as a vampire in the film "Blade", in the form of an agent to combat terrorism in the film "Passenger 57" and playing a drug lord in such blockbusters as "The Destroyer" and "New Jack City". And everywhere he looked invincible.
24. Uma Thurman

Can you now see a yellow tracksuit and not remember the Ume Thurman, waving a samurai sword, blood letting enemies and thirsting for revenge? And no one will remember that a suit was "lapped up" with Bruce Lee's outfit in the movie "Game of Death". After "Kill Bill" Uma Thurman deserved rest on its laurels icon action.
23. Matt Damon

Who could have imagined before reaching the screen film about Jason Bourne, that the star of "Good Will Hunting" can play a macho man? This reincarnation of cornered the secret agent, who by then also lost his memory, seems to leap across the chasm between the two images. But Damon is easy to cope with all the fight scenes and chases, and immediately puts on a mask of cold-blooded killer, when needed. It looks like a quiet and cute puppy suddenly jumps on his master and breaks it into pieces.
22. Kurt Russell

He started in his childhood, playing in the Disney movie, but very quickly grew from a "bad guy". In the movie "Escape from New York," he cleverly disguises her looks cute boy under the image of the one-eyed Snake Plissken offender. This myself crafty, shaggy anti-hero in a long leather coat. He also stunningly bad guy in "Death Proof". The image of an evil psycho so this is an actor.
21. Pam Grier

Billboard's 1973 film "Coffee" Grier announced the image as "the worst girl ever to behave disgracefully in the city." And since he has not changed role: that in a film about women's prison in "The Big Doll House" or a tape of the sexual avenger "Foxy Brown" Pam's still the same.
20. Bruce Lee

The phrase "muscles like steel" - perhaps a cliché, but it's something that could boast of Bruce Lee. Give him a nunchuck, and it all crumble in the cabbage, showing the top martial arts skill. Who has not watched "Fist of Fury" or "Way of the Dragon"? Bruce Lee created a furor in the world of cinema, it is a pity, died in 1932.
19. Kirk Douglas

He starred in the title role in "Champion", struggled with the giant squid in the Disney "Two Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" and led a revolt of slaves, gladiators in "Spartacus" when Russell Crowe has walked on foot under the table. So remove the same hat in front of Michael's dad: its irregular appearance, to which not touched surgeon's scalpel, his old acting training, which made for flat out on the full role and brilliant images that are not supplemented by computerized special effects ... Well, where there is such a monotonous minimalists like Clint Eastwood or Steven Seagal?
18. Linda Hamilton

Of course, you say: yes she entire first part of the "Terminator" sobbed and squeaked like a woman! But here's the second part "Judgement Day", it still kicked ass endoskeletonu. And in this case demonstrated the ability to use weapons, like a commando, and those biceps that Madonna smokes nervously in the corner. And those glasses? Is it possible to look even cooler? Long live Sarah Connor!
17. Nicolas Cage

When the movie saga of Indiana Jones, in which he played Harrison Ford, went to gather dust on shelves of video rentals, a place archaeologist-adventurer took Nicolas Cage, who played in the sequel "National Treasure." Yet we have seen it in the image overgrown prisoner in the movie "Con Air", an expert of the FBI in "The Rock", the twin-antipodes in John Woo's "Face / Off" and bring in a thriller, filmed on comics, "Ghost Rider". And it all alone.
16. Russell Crowe

Anybody can play better than the pain and anger of a gentleman with whom so low cost? Not surprisingly, Crowe earned an Oscar for his portrayal of Maximus Detsimusa Meridiusa - General devotee of "Gladiator." But he also looks natural and as an educated captain in "Master of the seas." And in "Robin Hood", he also shoots an arrow better than Robin Hood himself. I wonder who he will play next time?
15. Angelina Jolie

Difficult to determine with what would start. Eyes? Cheeks? Cheeks? These plump, sensual lips? And that's just the fact that noticeable at first glance. Jolie is convincing in dramatic roles, and shines as the star of action. Its unearthly beauty in harmony with the image of a strong girl who can stand up for himself in movies such as "Lara Croft", "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," Who is Salt? ".
14. Mel Gibson

When he gave his "repentance" interview with Diane Sawyer, Gibson admitted that he had long been struggling with bouts of sudden, uncontrollable rage. Maybe that's why he is so good, portraying the angry cop in the film "Lethal Weapon", a Scot, William Wallace and the avenger survived the global apocalypse Mad Max.
13. Tom Cruise

The first trick, which we remember today, hearing the name of Tom Cruise - is he jumped on a couch on Oprah in 2005, demonstrating his love for Katie Holmes. Poor Tom! Before he became such, he has played many roles. For example, in "Top Gun, Mission: Impossible" and paintings by Steven Spielberg.
12. Bruce Willis

After his success in the television series "Detective Agency" Moonlight ", where he starred with the duo with Sybil Shepard, Willis tried his hand at a couple of comedies. But then he found his true vocation, having played in 1988 film "Die Hard", and this role has made him world famous. This is not spivshiysya plastic surgeon henpecked from "Death Becomes Her."
11. Steve McQueen

He could not throw such shrill and wonderful views, like James Dean or Brando Merlon. But nevertheless, it is as a symbol of 50's cinema, as these "boys on the cover." And how cool he looks in the movie hits the 60's "Great Escape" and "Bullitt" or the picture in 1974 "Towering Inferno".
10. Sigourney Weaver

Well, okay, she played just two classic movies of the genre action: "Alien" by Ridley Scott and "Aliens" by James Cameron (for which she, incidentally, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress). But Ellen Ripley so famously gives a light to these vile parasites from deep space that Weaver deserves the title of the goddess of women's action.
9. Sylvester Stallone

At birth, Stallone was injured due to the fact that he was pulled with forceps, which resulted in a damaged nerve. Throughout his life his lower lip protruded slightly actor, and language - partly paralyzed. No wonder he looked so convincing in the role of the battered boxer Rocky Balboa and Rambo revenge machine. And although Stallone once tightened with ekspluatetsiey both images that emerged in the 70's and 80's, we do not get tired of admiring his muscles.
8. Douglas Faerbenks

Yes, he starred in silent films. Probably, it made you scroll the image. Come on, if it is advertising a stylized black-and-white silent movie, what you do not like Faerbenks? What was he sexy with costumed epic films as gracefully waving his sword in the ribbons of the genre "cloak and sword." Remember the old "The Mark of Zorro," "Thief of Baghdad" or "Robin Hood".
7. Michelle Yeoh

The laws of physics have nothing to do with aerial acrobatics, which can be viewed as a dance, and how to fight. Basically we know Michelle on films "Crouching Tiger, endangered dragon" and "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor."
6. Jackie Chan

He is a true master of martial arts. He was terribly famous in his native Hong Kong, long before I came to conquer Hollywood. Unlike his partner in the film "Rush Hour" by Chris Tucker, he was not satisfied with just fist fight on the screen. But performs like a ballet pas, flavoring them with humor and turning the fierce fighting in the great flights of cinematic imagination. If you've never watched "Police Story" or "Drunken Master", then you are missing out.
5. Errol Flynn

Remember the days when the heroes of action games do not look oborzhavshimisya steroids and swore? Flynn refers to the era of cinema, when the good and the bad guys were real gentlemen. Just like in the movies 30-40's "The Adventures of Robin Hood" or "Sea Hawk". Gallant, cute and awfully sexy, even in tight green pants - he always played bad guys in love with the protagonist. Such qualities do not see a shooter, since the 70's and beyond.
4. Arnold Shvartsneyger.

Thanks to this actor, a model of the hero action games of 80 was pumped bruiser, and came into vogue, "Teutonic" accent. Remember how he coined the German notes of his famous «I'll be back» and «Hasta la vista, baby».
3. Clint Eastwood

Oh, this Clint! This squinting eyes speaks volumes: the soul singles of the westerns, violent revenge in the movies Dirty Harry, unshakable confidence in a number of other detectives, and even a certain irony in several comedies. Here it is in all its glory.
2. Sean Connery. Roger Moore wrote the soundtrack to the James Bond film - the song "Nobody does it better." Is not it about Connery? Seven times he played the 007, and after that he shone in a variety of roles, ranging from military commanders to daddy Indiana Jones.
1. Harrison Ford.

Strutting like a peacock, Han Solo, slightly awkward Indiana Jones and the striding Jack Ryan - Ford cope with any task, if we are talking about the physical reincarnation. And how much confidence and irresistible charm in his eyes!
