Esperanza Aguirre thinks that the indignant protestors could be behind a coup-She made the comments at the presentation of a new book by Pedro J. Ramírez, the editor of El Mundo
The Partido Popular President of the Madrid region, Esperanza Aguirre, has said that she considers the 15-M indignant protestors could be ‘a possible state coup attempt’.
She made the comments during the presentation of the new book by El Mundo’s editor Pedro J. Ramírez.
Describing the demonstrators as ‘rowdy and quarrelsome’ she said that the demand a principle of direct democracy under which they could be a hidden coup.
She criticised the demonstration the indignant had held outside the Catalan parliament, and then linked them to Rubalcaba, saying that there are politicians who want to appease the movement.
She considered that demonstrators who take over the street with hands held high normally end up trying to impose the opinion of ‘a few manipulators without scruples’.
Her comments were criticised by José Bono, the ex President of Congress, who said that it was not just to attack the indignant protestors, saying that reason is something which belongs to all Spaniards, not just to Rajoy or Zapatero.
