A Charlotte, N.C., school bus driver is credited with acting coolly when things got hot on her bus, getting six children off safely before it burst into flames. Lindora Richardson, 37, said Thursday she smelled something burning and then saw smoke coming from the bus' steering column during her afternoon run the day before, WSOC-TV, Charlotte, reported. She pulled over and led the students from Chantilly Montessori School out the back of the bus, holding their hands and catching them as they jumped to safety. Richardson said she doesn't see herself as heroic.
